But he came back strongly at the start of the 2010/11 season, some impressive performances for the Development squad securing a start as the first team took on Walsall in a friendly, Hemmings scoring the opening goal in a 4-0 win.
He followed this up with his first competitive start for the first team in the Carling Cup Second Round tie with Southend in August, 2010.
A loan spell at Torquay during the season saw Hemmings make 11 appearances, and he was given another contract back at Molineux to extend his stay with the club to at least 2012.
