Michael Mancienne returned from Chelsea for a second loan spell with Wolves at the start of the 2009/10 season.

The highly-rated defender, who had just signed a new four-year contract at Stamford Bridge, agreed a season long loan at Molineux which both he and the club hoped would match his hugely successful stay at the end of 2008.

Of his ten Wolves appearances between October and December, the club won six, drew three and lost only one.

His form while at Wolves also earned him a first senior England call-up for a friendly game with Germany in Berlin in November, for which he was an unused substitute.

Mancienne was then recalled by Chelsea in January to feature in six games for the Blues, including coming off the bench in the Champions League win over Juventus, and the Londoners won all six.

He was named Young Player of the Year at Chelsea for the 2008/09 season.

Having represented England at various junior levels he has also been capped 15 times by England-under-21s, scoring one goal, and featured in the 2009 Uefa European Under-21 Championships in Sweden.

His second loan stay at Molineux also saw him feature in central midfield as well as the heart of the defence.
