George began his career as a trainee with
He enjoyed loan spells with Tiverton Town, Team Bath and Folkestone Invicta before things really took off as he was a virtual ever-present in Exeter's promotion winning side of 2007/08.
Friend appeared in the play-off final win over
He signed for Wolves on transfer deadline day - September 1, 2008 - and made his debut in the game at
Friend only made seven appearances in his debut season, but made a positive impact when he did, notably in away victories in the FA Cup and league against Birmingham and Crystal Palace respectively.
In the first half of the 2009/10 season he spent loan spells at Scunthorpe, Southend and Millwall before making his Premier League debut in the defeat at Manchester United in December.
