Sylvan Ebanks-Blake began his professional career at Manchester United after graduating through the youth ranks at Old Trafford. He was to play just two games for the Premier League giants, both in the League Cup, and he scored in one of them.

In January 2006, he moved to Belgium to gain senior experience playing for Royal Antwerp and he went on to score four goals in nine matches for them.

The following July he signed a three year contract with Plymouth Argyle who paid United an initial £200,000 fee. He very quickly became a regular for the south coast club and scored ten goals in his first season with them.

His second campaign resulted in a further 13 goals from 29 appearances - six of which were as a substitute. Then, in the January transfer window of 2008, he joined Wolves for an undisclosed fee.

Ebanks-Blake signed a four and a half year deal and he opened his goal account for Wanderers in only his second game.

He won the Championship's Golden Boot for the 2007/08 season, scoring a total of 23 goals for Plymouth and Wolves.

The 2008/09 season against saw Ebanks-Blake leading the way, his 25 goals ensuring a successful defence of the Championship Golden Boot while he was also named Championship Player of the Year and scooped the Goal of 2008 award for his individual effort the previous season against Charlton.

Also becoming an England-under-21 international during Wolves' Championship-winning season, the deadly marksman agreed a new four-year contract as the club prepared for the Barclays Premier League.

He notched his first top flight goal from the penalty spot against Aston Villa in October, 2009.

Having lost his place in the New Year, in part due to the switch to using a lone striker, Ebanks-Blake came off the bench to score a crucial equaliser against Blackburn and impressed having started on the final day of the season against Sunderland.

And while 21 of his 34 appearances in the 2010/11 season came from the substitutes bench, he struck seven Premier League goals, including one at former club Manchester United which would have earned Wolves a point but for conceding an injury time winner.
