The Wolverhampton-born youngster is a product of the club's youth system. Mark has come through the ranks, earning himself a place in the England squad at various levels up to under 19s.
He captained the under 17s side for a UEFA Championship qualifier at Molineux in March 2005. Mark signed a professional contract shortly after turning 17 in 2005.
He made his Wolves debut in the Carling Cup game with Chester City in August of 2005/06, and went on to make his League debut as a substitute away to Leeds later that month.
The first half of his 2006/07 campaign was written off when he suffered a cartilage problem in pre-season. However, he returned to fitness in the New Year, made ten appearances for Wolves and also featured for England's under 19s.
Mark suffered further injury problems the following season with a damaged shoulder.
