Kevin Foley had been at Luton Town since the age of nine when he moved to Molineux on a three-year contract during the first week of the 2007/08 season.

Already capped by the Republic of Ireland at under-21 level and with senior call-ups to his name, the young right-back had the bitter experience of relegation with his home-town club in his last season after helping them to promotion two years earlier.

The 2006/07 season ended disappointingly for him with an ankle operation but the decision to operate before the summer meant he was fit for the start of the new term.

Foley has been a regular in the first team since he arrived at Molineux impressing all with the consistency of his performances.

He struck the second goal of his Wolves career - the first coming against Norwich in his early weeks - to wrap up a 2-0 win against Barnsley in December, 2008.

All in all he made 47 appearances as Wolves clinched the Championship title in 2008/09, missing just one league game, and was a fully deserving winner of the club's Player of the Year award.

The icing on the cake was provided with his first Republic of Ireland senior cap shortly after the end of the season as he started the friendly with Nigeria at Craven Cottage.

Foley suffered a medial knee ligament injury in the opening game of the 2009/10 campaign which then re-occured after his return.

As a result it wasn't until December, 2009, that he managed to enjoy a sustained run in the side, in the right hand side of midfield.

But he went on to excel in the position in the 4-5-1 formation, and completed the season having made 23 league starts and a further two outings from the bench.

The 2010/11 season was another impressive one for Foley, who again featuring in different positions although mainly at right back, rattled up 36 outings in all competitions.

He also scored three goals, including one at Old Trafford in the Carling Cup, and was a proud captain of the side on several occasions.

An impressive post-season series of international performances saw him bed down further in the Republic of Ireland ranks, while he was also handed a boost for his club prior to the 2011/12 campaign by putting pen to paper on a new four-year contract.
