Wayne On The Mend
A knee injury ruined goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey's chances of taking part in the Welsh under 21s home and away fixtures against Estonia.
He missed both UEFA Under 21 Championship games, including last night's second leg at Wrexham, as well as a friendly against Cyprus at Port Talbot eight days ago after picking up the injury in training.
The disappointed youngster said: "I don't even know if I would have got a game but it's great just being involved with the squad.
"We were preparing for the game in Estonia when I hurt my knee whilst diving for the ball. I knew it was bad because I couldn't straighten my leg properly.
"It turned out to be a problem with my cartilage and last Wednesday I had surgery to trim off some tissue.
"But I've already started to do some work in the gym and now my focus is on being fit enough to start pre-season training when the rest of the lads return to Compton Park at the end of next month."
