Good Luck Message
It came as something of a surprise when Sven Goran Eriksson named Theo Walcott in his squad for next month's World Cup Finals in Germany - not only to the player himself but also to his international teammate, Mark Davies.
The Molineux midfielder, who has impressed since he broke into the Wolves first team last August, has played with Theo for England at under 17, 18 and 19 levels.
"It was a shock when I heard that he had been picked," admitted Mark. "He is still only 17-years-old and hasn't played for Arsenal yet since his transfer from Southampton.
"I honestly thought that the more experienced strikers like Andy Johnson, Darren Bent or Jermain Defoe would have been picked ahead of him but, having said that, I'm delighted for Theo.
"He's a great lad who has terrific pace and he certainly knows where the goal is. I have thoroughly enjoyed playing with him for England and am sure he has a big future in front of him at both club and international levels.
"When I called him yesterday to say 'well done' I think he was still a bit shocked.
"But he's very level headed and I don't think he will let anyone down if he is called into the team in Germany."
