Wolves Bid For Players

Posted on: Mon 27 Jun 2005

Wolves hope the start of pre-season will see an increase in transfer activity that could lead to several new faces at Molineux.

As the players reported back for training today, chief executive Jez Moxey was waiting on offers the club has made for players to boost Glenn Hoddle's squad.

The CEO revealed that the Wolves had tabled several bids and are hoping that as players and officials at other clubs return from their summer breaks, transfer business will speed up.

"I think it's important that supporters know that we are endeavouring to make progress in recruiting players," says Jez.

"Now that Glenn has returned, and the English football fraternity begin to come back from holidays generally, we are hoping that things might move along at a quicker pace.

"We know exactly what we want to do and we have written offers out there awaiting a final answer.

"I think we are a little further advanced in our plans than many other clubs which is perhaps holding us back a little. The players we want to sign are with clubs who are waiting for other things to happen before they give us a decision.

"I feel we're in good shape but we're not making as much progress as we would like. But at the same time, no-one has turned us down yet."
