Season Ticket Sales Revealed

Posted on: Wed 08 Sep 2010

Wolves have today revealed their current Season Ticket numbers for the 2010/11 campaign, showing a decrease for the same period last year.

Wolves have currently sold 18,498 Season Tickets in comparison to 19, 975 at this time last year, still a healthy figure in comparison to many other clubs in the Barclays Premier League.

And CEO Jez Moxey has thanked fans for their ongoing loyalty and support in getting behind Wolves' bid to make further progress in the top flight of English football.

"We have always prided ourselves on our number of Season Ticket Holders because the scheme remains the most hassle-free and value-for-money way of watching regular Premier League football at Molineux," says Jez.

"And while it's disappointing we haven't been able to reach the same numbers as last season or indeed surpass it, we remain appreciative of the number of supporters who have either renewed or purchased a Season Ticket for the first time.

"That level of home support is - as always - going to prove crucial in helping the team to pick up as many points as possible and in making Molineux a difficult place for the opposition to come.

"In terms of the numbers of Season Tickets, we remain well aware of the difficult economic climate at the present time, and froze our previous Early Bird prices for online renewals allowing the majority of supporters to continue to watch Premier League football at Championship prices.

"However we also appreciate that there are still supporters and former Season Ticket holders who have told us, via our research and talking to different groups among our fanbase, that they were unable to renew their seats due to their own financial circumstances.

"We would also thank those supporters as well for their backing and loyalty, and hope that they will still be able to watch Wolves on a match-to-match basis or via the other range of ticketing initiatives such as our Ticket Priority Scheme that have been available."

Head of Ticketing and Membership Lynne O'Reardon has also confirmed that the Club is planning a repeat of the Half Season Ticket promotion run last season, which increased the number of Season Ticket Holders from 19, 975 to 20, 409.

"We are again pleased with the take-up from so many thousands of supporters who continue to purchase their Season Tickets," said Lynne.

"There is still a chance for people to purchase if they wish, guaranteeing their attendance at the remaining 17 home games of the season as well as all the other benefits which a Season Ticket brings.

"Alternatively supporters can also express their interest in the Half Season Ticket promotion by contacting the Ticket Office as soon as possible.

"Those supporters will then be the first to know when details of the Half Season Ticket are released.

"With the current proposals for Stadium Redevelopment, the capacity is set to be reduced at Molineux next season, meaning a Season Ticket will become even more valuable for fans wishing to attend matches on a regular basis.

"Joining the ranks of the Season Ticket Holders either now or via a Half Season Ticket will avoid the likely clamour for tickets on a match-to-match basis when capacity is planned to be reduced next season."
