Karl Henry believes Wolves are definitely a stronger team for their Barclays Premier League experiences of last season.
But the proud skipper is definitely not getting carried away despite Wolves registering an impressive opening day win against Stoke on Saturday.
Henry was one of the Premier League rookies who enjoyed an excellent first season in the top flight, and believes it is important to learn and develop from that debut campaign.
"Without a doubt we're a stronger team now," he says.
"Twelve months of experience is a lot in this league.
"Some of the games we played - and I'm not afraid to say it some of the hidings we got last season - gave us something to learn from.
"We're definitely a stronger team for it, and that's helped by the signings we've made as well.
"Beating Stoke on Saturday was a great start for us but we're not getting to get carried away.
"I'd heard the stat that it was our first win on the opening day since 1999. That's ridiculous!
"Hopefully we can continue with this for the next few games and kick on."
On the game itself, Henry believes Wolves' came out on top thanks to being able to play the sort of football which brought the two first half goals followed by some defensive steel in repelling the inevitable fightback from his former side.
He added: "It's a game we obviously wanted to win and one we felt we could win.
"And it was a great feeling to come away with the three points.
"The manager told us that the way we could win the game was to get the ball down and pass it rather than get wrapped up in their style of play which is more direct.
"We wanted to play our game and did that in the first half when we got the goals.
"We were disappointed to concede and had to weather the storm in the second half but nonetheless it's a good victory.
"I'm always a proud captain win, lose or draw but it was particularly nice on Saturday."
