Winger Geoffrey Mujangi Bia believes he is ready to make an impact at Barclays Premier League level next season as he bids to create a promising impression.
Mujangi is in the travelling party for tomorrow night's friendly with Charleroi, from whom he joined Wolves on loan in January and is now going to spend another season in the Premier League.
His first few months at the club were affected by niggling injuries, but he has caught the eye in training so far not to mention coming off the bench to score at Bohemians last Saturday.
Having spent plenty of time in the gym working on his fitness and strength, the 20-year-old wideman is all set for the new campaign with the long-term ambition of following fellow former team-mate Adlene Guedioura in securing a permanent move.
"I'd like to sign for Wolves - if I didn't want to make the move at the end of the season permanently, I'd go back to Charleroi or another team," he said.
"But I like it at Wolves and I want to stay.
"Nothing has been said yet because it's more about what I do this season.
"Signing for Wolves isn't really on my mind now - it's more about playing and enjoying the football, the team staying in the Premier League and only after that will we talk about upping sticks and moving.
"You have to prepare well to play in the Premier League so you need to be physically strong which is why we do lots of weights and running.
"I'm confident I can make an impact in the Premier League now.
"I want to be able to become an important player for the team."
Mujangi could end up being one of four exciting wingers vying for a place in the starting eleven once Michael Kightly and Stephen Hunt are fit again to join Matt Jarvis.
He admits he will be keen to try and impress the fans when given an opportunity.
"Hopefully, the fans will see me getting my chance so I can show them what I've got, in particular my attacking play," he added.
"If I'm on the pitch, I'll do my best for the team and hopefully offer us plenty going forwards.
"Fans love to see flair and excitement but I need to be well prepared to do it in the Premier League.
"It will be difficult. But I feel I'm ready for that."
