Wolves boss Mick McCarthy admits it will have to be a beneficial loan offer for any of his young charges to depart Molineux in the near future.
The plan is for the Development squad to stay together for the first few months of the season to allow them to be coached as a unit by Steve Weaver and continue to progress via reserve team football.
Several of the players shone after being given a chance in the first team's friendly win at Walsall on Tuesday, and their latest assignment is a Development game against Newport County's first team tonight.
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has already been snapped up by Peterborough on a season-long loan, and while others may follow for the right opportunity it's not something Mick is actively chasing.
"I've no desire to let anyone go out on loan," he said.
"I know we've let Nat Laing go but he had a week with Gary Johnson at Peterborough before the end of the season.
"Nat's got to be good enough to do it week-in week-out but Gary wants to play him.
"He's on a youth loan so if he doesn't play him or he doesn't fit what Gary wants, we can have him back.
"What I really want is have that group of lads - John Dunleavy, Ethan Ebanks-Landell, Scott Malone, Danny Batth, Ashley Hemmings, David Davis, James Spray, Sam Winnall and Aaron McCarey - to play and be a team.
"They can play in the reserves and Steve Weaver can have a team he can coach rather than just one or two players like sometimes happened last season.
"They want it as well, to have the chance to show me what they can do.
"If they do start playing in the reserve league and pulling trees up and somebody wants them, we might take a different view.
"But for their development we want to keep them together.
"I'm not saying we won't loan them out, but there's no desire to do it, and they'd have to be playing elsewhere."
