Wolves midfielder David Jones believes Wayne Hennessey has more than enough talent to come back fighting for the goalkeeping jersey at Molineux next season.
Hennessey, in line to feature for Wales in Sunday's friendly in Croatia, lost his place to Marcus Hahnemann during last season and then the American's impressive form ensured he hung onto the number one spot.
But Jones believes the young keeper, who has already amassed over 100 first team appearances, has the ability to push Hahnemann all the way again next season.
"Wayne was unlucky in the fact Marcus did so well when he came into the team," said Jones.
"But Wayne is a top quality keeper and we know he's great with his feet and he's a great shotstopper too.
"He's still young too but he's got excellent experience already having played 30 times at international level.
"And I'm sure he'll grow into an even better keeper here - he will be a really top class keeper."
There has been more speculation today about whether Michael Mancienne will be available for loan again next season.
That decision remains with parent club Chelsea, but if the situation does arise that he returns to Molineux, Jones would certainly welcome the Londoner's impact.
"It would definitely be great to see him back here next season," he said.
"We know what he offers defensively but he's got the quality on the ball to play midfield.
"He's got a lot of composure but players tend to have that if they've been schooled by the bigger clubs, so coming from Chelsea, you expect him to have confidence on the ball.
"That's what they promote at the bigger clubs and he's been at Chelsea for a long time.
"He wouldn't have reached the standard he has at Chelsea - playing first team football - if he wasn't good on the ball.
"So it was a natural progression for him to play in the holding role, and he offers a lot defensively as well."
