Matt Jarvis believes Wolves' confidence levels which were boosted by the recent unbeaten run have not been dented in the wake of Saturday's last-gasp defeat at the hands of title-chasing Arsenal.
Wolves' hopes of making it a record five Barclays Premier League outings without defeat were dashed by Nicklas Bendtner's injury time header at the Emirates, cruelling denying the team another crucial point in the fight for survival.
But Jarvis is confident that Wolves can continue to build on the positives from recent performances as they welcome Stoke to Molineux on Sunday (kick off noon, non-televised).
"We've got five games left and want to get as many points as we can," he said.
"Stoke is the first of those so we will be trying to get a result.
"At their place we fought back to get a point which turned out to be a very good point and a deserved point.
"Since then we've been playing very well and are in a good mood heading into the game.
"We've been playing well as a team and working hard.
"And we've also been converting the chances created in recent games as well.
"We were unfortunate at Arsenal but are looking forward to Sunday and Stoke.
"Confidence does breed more confidence and as every game went by on that unbeaten run we felt better and better.
"It helps in every part of your game and despite losing to Arsenal we just need to keep that going."
Work remains if Wolves are to clinch their top flight status for next season, with a five-point gap which could be erode by the time of Sunday's lunchtime kick-off.
But Jarvis believes the mood is positive about going out to finish the job.
"We've always thought we would stay up and still think we can," he added.
"That's why we've been fighting so hard and got ourselves into a good position.
"Now with five games to go we just need to keep it going and doing what we've been doing and we should be o-k."
