Boss Mick McCarthy was left reflecting on an excellent point from this afternoon's local derby with Aston Villa, albeit tinged with disappointment that Wolves didn't make the short journey back up the M6 with all three.
Having gone behind in the first half to John Carew, goals from Jody Craddock and an own goal from James Milner saw Wolves lead 2-1 until a Carew leveller eight minutes from time.
Carew looked close to being offside for both of Villa's goals but the Wolves boss was certainly not in any mood to complain.
"It might feel like we've had a couple of points snatched away from us but it was our own downfall," said Mick.
"Let's look at our role in it and not bemoan anything else.
"The goals were down to us so we can't really complain.
"Although the first one is offside we'd worked on not getting caught on the break so we had a role to play as well.
"There's no point feeling 'poor little us' because we were involved in the goals.
"The second goal was Chelsea all over again with a ball straight down the middle.
"You're told not to let the ball bounce from when you're four years old, and then five and six, seven.
"We always say 'don't let it bounce' and I'm like a parrot!
"It's a poor goal to concede.
"But the two lads at the back have been brilliant apart from that.
"They've had to play against Heskey and Carew and head everything all afternoon so it's not like they've been up against two midgets.
"So I'm not going to be too hard on them."
And despite any disappointment the boss admits that a point from Villa Park is an excellent return.

"It's not as if Villa didn't have a lot more chances," he added.
"They could have had a couple more goals but we defended well.
"It's just that we've got to within eight minutes of winning the game.
"There were lot of positives to take away from it and despite being disappointed with their two goals there were far more plusses than minuses.
"I thought we were excellent.
"We scored two goals and picked up a point and produced a good all-round performance at Villa Park against a team going for the top four."
It was another impressive Wolves performance on the road in keeping with many others this season, with four points from two games the perfect tonic ahead of the final claret-and-blue awayday at West Ham.
He added: "We're equally as bad at home or away - or equally as good as the case may be!
"It doesn't bother us playing away from home.
"With the way we set up the lads are confident wherever they are playing.
"We've had good performances away from home as far back as Sunderland where we got slapped five and yet could have won it which is kind of ridiculous.
"It's a terrific performance and a fabulous point.
"I'm sure everyone thought Villa would go on and win it after scoring first and maybe give us a slapping so it's nice to kick against the trend."
Mick concluded: "It's the last two results which have encouraged us and not the performances.
"Because we've been getting encouragement from the performances for six or seven games.
"We matched Manchester United and Chelsea and got nothing, and played well at Bolton and got nothing.
"It's just nice when results like today back the performances up."
