Jody Craddock today expressed his delight at being offered the chance to extend his Wolves stay into next season.
Boss Mick McCarthy yesterday confirmed that the club captain, the club's longest serving outfield player having arrived in 2003, has been offered a new deal as a result of his impressive performances so far this season.
"It's fantastic news that the gaffer's said I'm going to be offered something," said Craddock.
"I've put a lot of hard work into the season and tried to look after myself and fortunately have managed to stay free of injuries apart from a few niggles.
"It was a dream for me to get a contract for this season and play in the Premier League and it's the same again to be offered another one now.
"I couldn't have asked for anything more.
"It's also given me a massive boost ahead of the last few games of the season."
While contract talks can sometimes be viewed as a distraction, Craddock believes that will be far from the case and instead will serve as even extra motivation as he aims to help Wolves secure Barclays Premier League status.
"We want to finish the job and stay in the Premier League which will be brilliant for me and for the team and the fans," he added.
"Getting involved in any contract talks certainly wouldn't distract me from anything - it's just going to push me on.
"I'm concentrating purely on the football and doing my bit to try and help the team stay in the league."
