Maierhofer Joins Bristol City

Posted on: Tue 16 Mar 2010

Stefan Maierhofer has this evening completed a move to Bristol City on a 28-day emergency loan.

The 27-year-old Austrian striker is trading places with Chris Iwelumo, who returned to Compton today after a successful month at Ashton Gate.

Maierhofer's loan is due to expire on April 11, taking in seven City games starting with tomorrow's trip to Plymouth.

Since arriving from Rapid Vienna last summer, he has made two starts and seven substitute appearances, having scored on his Barclays Premier League debut coming off the bench at Blackburn.

His most recent action was starting the game at Manchester United in December.

"This is a good move for Stefan and offers him the chance to enjoy some regular football," said Wolves boss Mick McCarthy.
