Wolves legend Robbie Dennison is confident the current Molineux charges have the stomach for the fight to secure their Barclays Premier League status, believing: "I don't see a squad who are shirking their responsibilities."
The former Northern Ireland international winger has seen almost all of Wolves' fixtures so far this season in his role as summariser for Beacon Radio, and will be there again at Turf Moor for tomorrow's game at Burnley.
Heading into the closing ten games could be a major test of nerve for the Molineux Men in their bid to beat the drop, but Dennison believes the signs are positive in terms of having the character to come through successfully.
And that's not just from this season, but also in leading from the front for so much of the Championship campaign which saw them finish up crowned as champions.
"At this stage of the season it's also about how people can handle the situation," he says.
"Mick (McCarthy) can say all he wants and do all he can in preparing the team but once they are out on the pitch it is the players who are in the pressure situation.
"Not many of them have been through this in their careers and that's when you need the likes of Jody Craddock to play a part.
"The players can however think back to last season.
"It was at the other end of the table in the Championship but they went on that run after Christmas when they appeared to hit the wall and might have been wondering where the next win was coming from.
"But they came through it and stood up to the pressure to go on and win the league.
"This is a different situation but that experience, and all experiences like that when you are successful, stand you in good stead."
Dennison spent ten years at Molineux making 353 appearances and scoring 49 goals.
There were plenty of positive experiences during that time, and big games as well, and he believes the sort of pressures now facing the Wolves crop of 2009/10 are occasions they should thrive on.
"Coming through these sort of situations is what makes players," he says.
"You have to be strong, to deal with the situation and still perform at your best.
"It becomes a mental test as well.

"But it is the sort of thing that if you come through it successfully it's something that helps you improve as a player.
"And coming through this sort of battle can also take a club forward.
"What I've seen so far is a squad and a team who are certainly not shirking their responsibilities.
"If they do have a bad game they always seem to respond and come back and play well in the next one.
"I am confident they are going to be fine."
There haven't been too many bad displays from Wolves in recent times.
However, the points haven't come in line with the performances.
Dennison however feels the team just need to maintain their standards, and that they have every right to be full of confidence heading into tomorrow.
He adds: "I don't think you can argue with Wolves' recent performances which have been good.
"The last four home games especially, which have been against top sides, they have hardly conceded any chances.

"There might have been one or two mistakes which have been disappointing but they've generally been very solid.
"You just feel if they can keep that level going until the end of the season, and maybe pick up a bit of luck along the way, then they'll be fine.
"It is easy to keep saying that if they carry on playing well they will get points but the longer it goes on it might be more difficult to do it.
"But they have played particularly well in those last four home games and if they repeat that they will get results.
"Infact if they'd played like that at home against Portsmouth, Hull and Wigan they'd probably have picked up a lot more points.
"I think the players and manager will just be looking forward to the next game which is Burnley.
"And they've every right to go into it feeling confident."
Burnley is the first of the claret-and-blue treble for Wolves on the road with Aston Villa and West Ham to follow before a return to home soil against Everton.
But Dennison doesn't believe the lack of home advantage need be a negative.
He was involved in one of the more high profile clash between two of the league's founder members, scoring with a free kick in Wolves' 2-0 Sherpa Van Trophy Final win over Burnley in front of over 80,000 at Wembley in 1988.

Both sets of fans certainly boast plenty of passion, making for a spicy atmosphere tomorrow.
"At this stage of the season I don't think playing away from home is going to make any difference," he says.
"Wolves have got a fairly settled side under the current formation and I can't see that changing massively.
"And they are not setting up any differently away from home as they are at home.
"It might make a difference if they were going to a Burnley side who had won five on the trot at home but that's not the case.
"Burnley had some great results at home at the start of the season but it's not been like that recently.
"Their fans are quite lively but that can work in both ways.
"Playing a fellow side at home there may be expectations on them and if Wolves start well and even get a goal the crowd might become agitated.
"Wolves' away following has been great this season - they've been extremely vocal.
"It's another sellout and I'm sure they'll get right behind the team again tomorrow."
In conclusion, Dennison admits the status of events at Turf Moor cannot be over-estimated.
With the table so tightly packed together in the bottom half, a win for either side will provide a major boost, and Dennison believes it's certainly within Wolves' capabilities to be that team.
"You can't get away from the importance of the game - it's massive for both teams," he says.
"It's easy to talk about it as just another game but difficult to actually see it like that when you're out there.
"When you see how the league is at the moment there's the suggestion a few teams might break away from the bottom four.
"But if Wolves could win tomorrow, that takes them three points ahead of Burnley with a game in hand and closer to the teams above.
"And I believe they are certainly capable of getting that win."
