Chris' Wires Crossed - Video Alert!

Posted on: Thu 25 Feb 2010

Chris Iwelumo has always been one of those players right in amongst the banter of the Molineux dressing room - few survive if they aren't!

And so it was that the big man popped in to the Compton training ground on Tuesday on a day off from his loan spell at Bristol City fully ready to take some flak.

And that's because he'd fallen victim to an impressive phone prank run by Radio Clyde north of the border.

After the announcement of the Scotland squad on Monday afternoon, the station - which broadcasts on Clyde 1 on 102.5FM - decided to work their magic on putting together a phone call from Scotland coach Craig Levein to our very own Big Chris.

Sony Award winning broadcaster Des McLean - aka Craig - was the man who made the call on the pretext of needing to know how Chris pronounces his surname ahead of all the interviews connected with the squad announcement.

There was plenty of detail involved - the station even asked Bristol City to alert Chris to the impending call from 'Craig' - and the impressive result was then played as the regular 8.10 sketch with McLean on the Bowie & Breakfast show on Tuesday.

Chris heard it, his team-mates heard about it, and now, with thanks to Radio Clyde, Wolves fans can now hear it FOR FREE by clicking here.

Meanwhile he also took the opportunity to go into session with the Debate Club on his return and the latest from messrs Iwelumo, Henry and Jones will be available exclusively to Wolves Player subscribers over the coming days.
