Barely a month ago, Adlene Guedioura would quite clearly not have expected to find himself lining up against the power and glory of Chelsea at Molineux tomorrow afternoon.
That he does - and with genuine conviction Wolves have it in them to get a result - is testament to what the club believe is another excellent addition to the ranks.
Guedioura quickly became something of a fans favourite by virtue first of a cameo performance from the bench in the defeat at Birmingham and then more so thanks to a hugely impressive full debut against Tottenham.
A thoroughly polite, decent and unassuming character, there is no danger whatsoever of the French 24-year-old getting carried away either by the manner of his Spurs performance or the attention that it brought.
Instead he is fully focused on going out to prove that he is not a one-hit wonder and is hot on the trail of a repeat performance.
"I really enjoyed the Tottenham game because it was a good match and most importantly because we won," says Guedioura.
"Hopefully the result will bring us confidence and give us opportunities to get more similar results before the end of the season.
"We're going into such a difficult match with Chelsea that we needed the sort of result we got against Tottenham.
"It was nice to play well against Tottenham but I wouldn't say it was a complete surprise because I've worked so hard to be here and to try and get into the team and play well.
"And the manager and staff giving me the confidence to go out and play is certainly a big help.
"I can't say it was a big surprise but I was certainly happy with my performance.
"But it's only one match - I hope that myself and the rest of the team can play the same way again.
"I have to keep my feet on the ground because it's only one match and we all need to stick together and play like this for every match.
"I want to progress and develop with the team and try and get as many good results as possible."

There are few bigger tests in English football then doing battle with a midfield likely to include messrs Lampard, Ballack, Cole et al.
And Guedioura knows it.
Equally however, there is little point losing the mental challenge before even setting foot on the pitch.
Hence why the midfielder and his team-mates will head out of the tunnel tomorrow respecting their opponents but not respecting them too much.
And generally believing they can add to their points tally at the end of the 90 minutes.
"Chelsea is a very big challenge," says Guedioura.
"We know what a good team they are with some of the world's greatest players.
"But we need points.
"It will be difficult but we have to go into the game believing we can get something.
"I think we are ready for the test ahead.
"We can't guarantee anything in terms of the result but hopefully we can do whatever we can to put on a good performance.
"I know about their players as everyone does who watches them.
"In the midfield Ballack is the best player in Germany, Lampard is one of the best in England - you could go through the team like that.
"But we are in the Premier League and we know we have to take on the best players.
"We just have to work hard and do what we can like we did against Tottenham.
"Like all players I want to put myself up against the best players and see how I can do.
"We're all the same in the team in that respect and it's how we play together and what we end up that matters.

"Chelsea have the best players but if we respect them so so much then we will lose our own ability to play our game.
"We need to be aware of their qualities but also believe we can get a result."
Belief is clearly an important part of the Guedioura make-up.
Hence why he has appeared to so seamlessly make the switch of Belgian First Division to Premier League, from Charleroi to Chelsea.
Yet he's not standing around pinching himself and wondering if it's true, instead doing everything he can to make himself feel at home.
"It is true that what has happened to me over the last month has been a very good surprise," he says.
"But it's what I've wanted and what I've been working for.
"It has been a dream but it's not an emotional dream, it's something I was aiming for and wanted to happen.
"I want to be here and it's my objective to stay here and play against Chelsea and all the other teams in the league.
"I want to show the manager and the supporters that I can play at this level and stay here.
"So yes it has happened quickly but now I am here I have belief in my ability and am focused on what I am doing."
