Wolves Freeze Early Bird Prices Online
For the ninth consecutive season Wolves are once again making a special Early Bird offer to existing Season Ticket Holders. Wolves are freezing ALL Early Bird prices for online renewals, with Junior (u17 & u12) prices frozen regardless of the renewal method.
During the last eight years Early Bird has been established as Wolves' most popular ticketing campaign giving existing Season Ticket Holders, who renew in February/March, the opportunity to guarantee their seat at the cheapest possible price.
Over 20,000 supporters will potentially benefit from today's announcement. Already this season, the 14,680 supporters, who renewed before last season's promotion was achieved, have been watching Premier League football for Championship prices paying, on average, just £19.50 per match.
An extra 5,714 supporters who purchased a Season Ticket during the summer or at the Half Season promotion, will also have the opportunity to renew at Early Bird and at a vastly reduced price.
The same supporters, sitting behind the goals, and renewing by traditional methods such as post or telephone, would pay an additional 98p per game in the Premier League. However, this is expected to be a relatively small minority of supporters.
For example, adult Early Bird prices in the Jack Harris/Stan Cullis Stands remain at £370 for online renewals (£389 for non-online), it's £490 (£515 in the Billy Wright Upper) or £430 (£452) in the Steve Bull Upper.
Fifteen thousand Season Ticket Holders have already provided an email address and the remaining supporters will still have the opportunity to do so prior to going ahead with their Early Bird renewal. For those supporters who don't have direct access to an email, or are unfamiliar with computers, then there is the opportunity, if appropriate, to utilise the email of a family member or an Internet cafe.
Junior prices (u17 & u12) have been frozen for the third season in a row (following a reduction in 2007), meaning that some under 12s can secure an Early Bird Season Ticket for as little as £23.
For those fans who purchased a Season Ticket in the summer of 2009, as new applicants at Premier League prices, the chance to now renew via the Early Bird scheme could, for seats behind either goal, see a massive reduction in price of £152 and those sitting in the Billy Wright Stand would see a £140 drop in price by renewing online for the 2010 / 11 Season.
The option to renew online will provide fans with both cost savings and a hassle free experience. From today Wolves will be emailing the majority of Season Ticket Holders with links to their own password-protected renewal page, pre-populated with each fan's individual details and pricing information.
Supporters who haven't provided an email address will receive a series of reminder postcards via the post. The Early Bird prices will remain the same whichever division Wolves are in next season.
The deadline for Early Bird Renewals is: Friday 12th March 2010 at 5:00pm.
Jez Moxey, Wolves' Chief Executive, said: "We have given a lot of consideration to the Early Bird special promotion and have decided to offer it again, for the ninth consecutive season. Balancing the commercial needs of the Club with the difficult economic climate facing supporters has not been easy. However, the Board decided that at this time the overriding necessity was, once again, to make sure we offered our most loyal fans the cheapest possible prices for renewal of their season tickets. Therefore, we're delighted to say that we are freezing all Early Bird prices for online renewals.
"This means that the vast majority of season ticket holders will once again be able to pay cost effective Championship prices next season regardless of our divisional status. We believe this represents outstanding value.
"Early Bird is a 'special offer' and we can't guarantee that it will always be made available in future seasons. However, we're proud of our track record of consistently offering great value season tickets to our supporters. The downside of this consistency is that Early Bird is sometimes taken for granted and attention is often drawn to 'one off' ad-hoc gestures made by other clubs. The simple fact is that we currently have over 20,000 Season Ticket Holders and the vast majority of these fans secured their ticket at the special Early Bird price and as a result benefited from huge savings against the price they would have paid in the summer.
"We also remain committed to attracting the next generation of supporters through Molineux's turnstiles. In addition to freezing Junior (u17 & u12) Early Bird prices for the third consecutive season, I'm also delighted to confirm that our award winning 'Wolves 4 Family Football' will be continuing next season as well. Over the past two seasons, 12,000 young fans and their families have enjoyed football together at Molineux, many of them for the first time, for just £10 per person per match. We must continue to do all we can to offer affordable and accessible football for young people and families.
"The backing from our fans this season, both home and away, has been fantastic and I know how much Mick and the team appreciate it. The squad will need that support more than ever as we face many of the Premier League's big names at home between now and the end of the season. As we said at the start of the season, we are the underdogs. However, we believe if we all stick together we can remain in the Premier League. I know everyone connected with the Club will be fighting in their own way between now and the end of the season to secure our place in the top flight. That's why we've done the best we possibly can with Early Bird season ticket prices."
