Stephen Ward insists Wolves will not be feeling sorry for themselves after their derby disappointment as they get back on the Barclays Premier League horse against Tottenham tomorrow.

The Champions League-chasing Spurs are the next visitors to Molineux during an ever-testing season which again showed its cruel side as Wolves were undone by two late Kevin Phillips goals at St Andrew's on Sunday.

But Ward is adamant that Wolves have it within their armoury not only to produce a positive result against Tottenham but also secure top flight survival.

He said:  "You can't feel sorry for yourselves in this game and we have to dust ourselves down and hopefully get three points because they're needed badly now.

"I think it's a good thing that we've got a game so quickly, but we'll have to be right at it.

"We're preparing right for the game and getting ourselves ready for it - it's a quick turnaround and we have to be ready.

"Of course we feel we can stay up.

"We should have beaten Birmingham which would have moved us up the table quite a bit.

"It's amazing what one win can do and we just have to make sure we get that one win because there are definitely points out there for us to take from games.

"We showed what we can do when we beat Tottenham away in one of our best performances of the season and we'll be looking to do that on our home patch.

"The boys will fight right to the end and we'll give everything to get that result tomorrow."

Ward has played on despite the odd niggle caused by the remnants of his cartilage operation towards the start of the season.

He underwent an injection to deal with ongoing soreness at the start of last week, but is confident the knee is now feeling fine.

"I've been playing with a swollen knee so I just needed an injection to help with the healing process," added the Irishman.

"I had the injection last week after it was sore during the week and it was alright for the 90 minutes on Sunday.

"I don't need an operation or anything like that - it just took a while for the swelling to go down.

"The swelling has gone down a bit now which is nice and I felt good against Birmingham."
