George Elokobi believes Wolves will continue to pick up the required amount of points to stay in the Barclays Premier League provided they maintain the standards of performance set in recent weeks.
Two defeats against highflying Liverpool and Manchester City over Christmas didn't fully reflect some of the quality shown in Wolves' play over the two games, par for the course what is always such an unforgiving league.
But George believes if Wolves continue to maintain those levels - which had of course produced three wins in four prior to Christmas - then they will certainly carry on picking up positive results over the second half of the season.
"It seems to have been like that for a lot of the season," he admitted.
"We've played well in games and ended up coming away with nothing.
"All we can do is keep playing well and trying to get something from the games we play, carrying on in the cup against Tranmere and then again in the league against West Ham.
"If you look at our recent games we've managed to get some decent results and get some points on the board.
"If we carry on playing like this I think we can definitely get enough points to stay in this league."
George came off the bench at Liverpool and started the game against Manchester City as he did at Manchester United, a return to the first team scene he enjoyed in the early stages of the campaign.
He's made nine Premier League starts so far this season, and three appearances as a substitute, and believes he is improving amid the extra quality on show in the top flight.
He added: "I've had a few tough times with trying to find my form but I believe it's now coming.
"I feel good about my fitness and have been working hard in training since I've not been in the team.
"Hopefully I can find that bit of extra form and I was happy with my performance against Manchester City.
"The players in the Premier League are very different from the players in the Championship.
"Defenders need to use plenty of quick thinking and forward thinking particularly because the forwards in this league know exactly what they want to do with the ball and have that quality and experience.
"You've got to be right on top of your game to counter that and when we go out there that's what we are always trying to do
