Stephen Ward believes it could take just one win to once again transform Wolves season for the better - and knows it's important it comes with Saturday's visit to Molineux of Bolton.
Stephen returned to the first team fray as a half time substitute against Birmingham on Sunday, and while making a positive impact could do nothing about the team's eventual 1-0 defeat.
The defender now believes all among the squad need to come out fighting against the Trotters as Wolves seek a crucial third win of the season.
He said: "We've got to step up to the plate now because we're the ones out there on the pitch
"Saturday's game is massive for us now - one that's definitely a must-win.
"But if we could just get one win, it would change our season and that's what we're looking to do.
"We were devastated that it didn't happen on Sunday, but you have to give credit to Birmingham for the way they played after they scored."
The Wolves fans were left understandably frustrated and disappointed by the events at Molineux on Sunday.
So too the players, admits the ever-willing Stephen.
"It hurts the lads as much as anyone because we worked so hard to get here," he adds.
"So there's no doubt we'll give every last ounce to try to stay in this league.
"I suppose the best thing we can do is bounce back on Saturday with three points.
"Don't get me wrong, it hurts everyone when we don't win.
"We were playing at home and we know everyone will have gone home in a horrible mood on Sunday and been in a bad mood yesterday as well."
The bad news continued in the shape of the injury sustained by Michael Kightly on Sunday.
Having come off the bench on the half hour mark, the winger looked to be returning to his best until picking up an ankle injury which was being assessed further at Compton yesterday.

"It's devastating for him and for us because when he's on form, he makes such a difference to us," said Stephen.
"Last season he provided something like 19 assists and when we scored, he was usually involved.
"When he's fully fit, he is devastating. I see him every day in training and he was looking absolutely brilliant last week.
"It was just unfortunate that he got injured again because I thought he was going to make a massive difference.
"I thought it took him five or 10 minutes to get into his stride, but once he did, he looked sharp.
"It looked as if he was going to be the key to us getting back into the game in the second half, so it's unfortunate that he picked up a knock and had to come off."
