New Season New Features!

Posted on: Sat 15 Aug 2009

Wolves' long-awaited return to the Barclays Premier League will be upon us within a few short hours - and Wolves' Official Website will be with the team every step of the way.

As Mick McCarthy and the players aim to establish themselves in one of the greatest leagues in world football, WOW will also aim to up its own game with a host of new features for the 2008/09 season.

Of course there will be all the usual news, features and team news hot off the press, not to mention live updates, pictures, match reports and reaction on the day of the big game.

But there are also other new features in the pipeline to keep Wolves fans entertained every day of the week.

'Backroom Boys' is a new weekly feature in which a quartet of leading club officials will describe, in their own words, some of the behind-the-scenes aspects of life at Molineux.

Head of the Medical Department Steve Kemp, fitness and conditioning coach Tony Daley, chief scout Dave Bowman and Academy manager Kevin Thelwell will all offer words of wisdom to keep supporters informed of some of the work that goes on at Wolves day in day out.

Then there's 'The Good, The Bad And The History', a mixture of fact and fiction, fun and fans, in another new weekly offering.

The Good? A new Fan of the Month section in which you the supporters will be encouraged to tell your stories on the website with each monthly winner receiving a signed ball.

The Bad?  Probably some of the jokes in an exclusive monthly column penned by former Wolves winger and now after dinner speaker Steve Kindon, who will mix thoughts on modern day football with some of his hilarious anecdotes.

And The History? A fascinating monthly offering from renowned footballing author and historian Steve Gordos.

Throw in the 'In the Hotseat' section where you get the chance to grill one of the club's players or officials and there should be plenty to keep everyone entertained.

All this plus all the important Ticket News, Injury and Disciplinary sections, details of Commercial events and latest Club Shop offers all at the press of a button.

That's enough of the news website, but what about the new, improved television service now known as Wolves Player.

Wolves Player is a new, premium, online service that replaced Wolves World last month and has been designed with the fans, for the fans.

It's the only place to see all the behind-the-scenes goings on at the club, including footage from the training pitches to the treatment room and beyond.

As well as exclusive TV interviews with players and backroom staff, subscribers can see all of Mick McCarthy's pre-match interviews and hear from the gaffer after the game.

Wolves Player is also the place to hear full, live match commentary of every first team fixture and see all the goals on demand with match highlights available the day after the game.
