The atmosphere will obviously be completely different when Wolves step out at Molineux tomorrow to that experienced during the final two home games of last season against QPR and Doncaster.
But Wayne Hennessey, if selected, can't wait to get back out there in front of the home fans.
The Welsh international's form has impressed boss Mick McCarthy thus far during pre-season, and is chomping at the bit to try and make his mark in the Barclays Premier League.
Performing well against Real Valladolid in tomorrow's friendly would go a long way to booking his place in the team for the big kick-off against West Ham.
"It will be good to get out there in front of our home fans," says Wayne.
"I love playing at Molineux and it's the first time back there since the celebrations at the end of last season.
"Whoever comes to Molineux is going to give us a test and Real Valladolid have been over here for a while now so they'll be ready for us.
"Then it's another trip away with Wales before it all gets underway against West Ham and everyone in the dressing room can't wait."
There's very much a three-way battle going on for goalkeeping duties at the moment, with Carl Ikeme fit again and the experience of Marcus Hahnemann now in the mix as well after his summer arrival.
Matt Murray is also on the comeback trail meaning a probable embarrassment of riches in the gloveman duties for Mick McCarthy to enjoy.
Hence why it has been so important that all three custodians produce the goods during pre-season.
"Pre-season's gone great for me personally and I've been pleased," added Wayne.
"Competition for places always keeps you on your toes and Marcus and Carl have done well in pre-season.
"It makes sure you keep your standards high and trying your best.
"At the end of the day it's up to the gaffer but hopefully I'll keep the number one shirt.
"The three of us have done well but of course I hope I can keep the shirt.
"Marcus is good to have around because he's played in the Premier League and he knows what it's like.
"He knows you can be quite busy as a goalkeeper in that league and is there with some good advice."
