In a game of few clear cut chances at Edgar Street, the game between Hereford and Wolves finished in a goalless stalemate.
In the opening minutes Jamie Tolley shot over the bar and full-back Ryan Green was denied a shooting opportunity by Jason Shackell.
Green was one of two former Molineux defenders playing for The Bulls - Keith Lowe taking a place in central defence.
Marcus Hahnemann made a fine save from Tolley but the flag was already raised for offside.
Nathan Rooney released Niell Collins on the overlap but his low cross was gathered by Hereford keeper Adam Bartlett before Ashley Hemmings could take advantage.
Marc Pugh fired over after a good cross from Sam Gwynne and Hemmings went close to breaking the deadlock following Elliott Bennett's corner but the striker's scuffed shot was cleared off the line by Richard Rose.
In the closing minutes of the half Pugh twice went close when he headed Green's cross over the bar and then saw his low shot being gathered by Hahnemann.

Hemmings had two shots blocked in quick succession six minutes into the second-half - the second effort going behind for an unproductive corner.
In the 62nd minute, Bennett was only just wide with a 25-yard drive but moments later Rose missed a golden chance for United when he headed Pugh's cross over the bar from close in.
Pugh burst into the Wolves box and fired wide and Bennett just failed to get a foot to Collins's low centre as play swung from end to end.
In the final minute a defender just beat substitute Scott Malone to Bennett's through ball.
