George Elokobi believes the decision of former Colchester team-mate Greg Halford to join Wolves could prove one of the best he has taken in his career.
George has previously played in a U's side also featuring Chris Iwelumo, and with the trio now reunited at Wolves believes the latest addition to Mick McCarthy's squad is another astute acquisition.
"Greg's a good player and he proved that in particular at Sheffield United last season," says George.
"He's got the capability to change games as well as being a utility man which makes him a good addition to the squad.
"There were times when he played right back and I was left back for Colchester but he can also play further forward in midfield and sometimes behind the striker or strikers.
"That sort of versatility can only help us as a squad.
"I think Greg will be keen to prove to everyone he can perform in the Premier League and that's what we all want to do as players.
"He's still young like a lot of players here and has got plenty to learn in the game - he can only get better.
"Joining Wolves might prove to be one of the best things he's done in his career because we're all going to grow together as players and go from strength to strength."
Character-wise George believes the 24-year-old is an unassuming personality who will benefit from joining the rest of the team on the pre-season tour of Australia.
"Greg is a normal type of guy who goes about his business in a quiet way," adds the Cameroon-born defender.
"He's a good lad and a good acquisition and it will be good for him to be on the tour to bond with all the boys straightaway."
