Whilst delighted to finally have his hands on the Premier League fixture list complete with Wolves' name on it there was one small problem for chairman Steve Morgan following last week's announcement.
Liverpool away falling on Boxing Day.
As a lifelong associate of Liverpool and former shareholder at the club a return to Anfield was always going to carry plenty of significance for the Wolves owner.
And that means he's had to cancel a planned holiday to ensure he is at the fixture!
"It was the one match I was looking forward to most of all and I'm slightly disappointed it's on Boxing Day because I was scheduled to go away for a few days over Christmas," says Steve.
"That's gone by the wayside now and we'll be staying here for the match which I'm really looking forward to, just like going to Old Trafford or the Emirates and other places.
"I had a board meeting on the morning the fixtures came out and I told them to interrupt me at one minute past 10 for a planned 'comfort break' as soon as the fixtures came out because I couldn't wait!
"I'm pleased with our start to the season. December looks a little bit tough but we've got to play the big teams some time, so we really just can't wait to get at it."
As revealed yesterday, Steve and the board and management are continuing with intensive efforts to try and attract new faces to Molineux.
Summer strengthening is always made difficult due to holidays and potential targets assessing all their different options but the chairman is confident all the groundwork carried out will reap its rewards.
"We started the process early, but inevitably, other clubs weren't ready to deal because their seasons weren't finished," he adds.
"Then, when their seasons were finished, we found a lot of other clubs just went on holiday.
"So it's been a little bit frustrating with not being able to talk to the people we wanted to.
"But we are very much on the case now. We don't make a song and a dance about it, but in the background, there's a lot of work going on.
"We'd identified a pool of players because you never get every man you're looking for.
"We're not looking for huge numbers because we don't need huge numbers - we've actually got a very good squad."
It's the belief that Wolves already have a foundation of very good players in place that has given the chairman optimism as the club aim to avoid the immediate relegation which followed the last promotion to the Premier League.
And he is also looking for new faces to be of the same ilk as the current crop of players developed by Mick McCarthy in terms of their character and desire for success.
"We have a policy at Wolves of getting good, young, hungry players who give their all on the pitch and often that's the best formula," Steve explained.
"It's a case of going back to the Morgan Foundation awards which were launched yesterday - if you've got the will to succeed, you will.
"And I think we've got a squad with the will to succeed, and we will.
"I think there's a big difference between the squad that got up last time and the current squad.
"The squad that got up last time through the play-offs contained a lot of older players coming towards the end of their playing career.
"Now we're much younger and despite a few problems, we ran away with the Championship last season which is testament to the strength of the squad.
"It's also a young squad, and while we're not making masses of signings this summer because we really believe we've got the nucleus of a squad that can do really well in the Premier League.
"We are looking for some experience and are talking to some excellent players at the moment.
"Wolves are back up there where we belong and we don't intend to be out of that company for a long, long time."
