Foley Finally To Feature

Posted on: Fri 29 May 2009

Kevin Foley is one of five Republic of Ireland debutants in tonight's friendly with Nigeria at Fulham after manager Giovanni Trapattoni confirmed his line-up for Craven Cottage.

Kevin, so often named in the senior squad and indeed on several occasions an unused substitute, will finally get the chance to show what he can do on the international scene as he picks up his first senior cap.

After another excellent season for Wolves, in which he started 45 of the club's 46 league games, Kevin was named Fans' Player of the Year.

Other debutants confirmed in the starting line-up are Preston pair Sean St Ledger and Eddie Nolan, Stoke's Liam Lawrence and Leon Best from Coventry.

Former Wolves duo Keith Andrews and Robbie Keane are both in the starting line-up but current Molineux striker Andy Keogh - who already has 11 caps to his name - is set to be on the bench.

Ireland are using tonight's game as a warm-up for a World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria in Sofia a week tomorrow.
