Sylvan Ebanks-Blake is ready to look ahead to a new Premier League challenge after scooping the Championship Puma Golden Boot award for the second season in succession.
The 'Wanderers number nine' chalked up 25 goals for the second successive campaign to claim the Championship accolade, which was officially ratified by the Football League this morning.
Sylvan, who paid tribute to his team-mates for their efforts in helping him achieve the notable landmark, has now notched 37 league goals in 61 appearances since joining Wolves from Plymouth in January of last year.
With the competition being for goals in all competitions, the 23-year-old only just held off the challenge of Jason Scotland (24) and Ross McCormack (23).
But in league terms alone he was four clear of the Swansea and Cardiff goal-grabbers.
"I'm delighted to win the Golden Boot for the second year in succession," he says.
"As the end of the season got closer it certainly became one of the targets I was aiming for and I finished up scoring four more league goals than anyone else which was a nice margin.
"It was a season to remember for me and the team and I was delighted with my tally of goals.
"I'm not sure if anyone has ever won it twice in succession but if not then it's great to set a new record.
"It was always going to be more difficult in a second season having won the Golden Boot the year before.
"People knew more about me and were more aware and so I had to make sure I worked a lot harder.
"Over the season I think I deserved to win it but at the same time I have to give credit to the rest of the lads.
"It's always about the team and not the individual and without them working hard and setting up chances obviously I wouldn't have ended up with the goals that I did.
"I'm delighted with the Golden Boot, delighted with promotion, and now we can look forward to the Premier League."
Retaining the Golden Boot completes a notable year of awards for the former Manchester United frontman.
At the Football League awards dinner in March, Sylvan was crowned Championship Player of the Year as well as winning the Goal of the Year award for his stunning individual effort at Charlton last March.
He was also named Player's Player of the Year by his Wolves team-mates and also scored the quickest goal of the Championship season, after 20 seconds against Crystal Palace last September.
But amid that clutch of silverware he is now ready to look ahead and concentrate on continuing to improve as Wolves prepare for life in the Premier League.
He added: "All of us are now looking forward to trying to prove we can perform at the higher level.
"We've done well and won the title in the Championship and it would be nice to think we can carry on making progress.
"We've all worked hard for the opportunity to play in the Premier League and we'll be going in after a good break with a good season behind us.
"It's a new and difficult challenge ahead but it's one that we'll certainly all be ready for."
The Football League PUMA-sponsored awards were all confirmed this morning.
The League One Golden Boot winner is Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford (34 goals) while in League Two the award went to Shrewsbury's Grant Holt (28).
The 'Golden Glove' award for most clean sheets was shared in the Championship after QPR's Radek Cerny and Sheffield United's Paddy Kenny both recorded 19 clean sheets in 47 appearances prior to the play-offs.
Tranmere's Danny Coyne registered 20 shutouts to take the League One award with Reading keeper Ben Hamer producing the same amount on loan at Brentford to claim the League Two accolade.
In announcing the award winners, Lord Mawhinney, Chairman of the Football League, said: "These awards give us the opportunity to recognise the goalscorers and goalkeepers who have made a very special contribution to their team's efforts this season.
"Each of these players has had an outstanding season and they all fully deserve the recognition."
Sylvan will officially receive the Golden Boot at one of the early fixtures next season.
