Michael Kightly has not yet had the chance to kick back and enjoy a breather after his exertions this season.
Surgery on his broken metatarsal has left the influential winger on a diet of gym and treatment room since the latter stages of Wolves' Championship-winning campaign.
Several more weeks of work are on the horizon, but at least the popular 23-year-old can now see some light at the end of the tunnel, not least in terms of the protective boot which has been nursing the injury.
"I should have the boot off in a week's time and then be running again in three weeks time," he says.
"If all goes well I should be fit and raring to go by the time we start pre-season.
"It's not great to come in all the time and I'd rather be on holiday!
"But it's life, it happens in football, and I'm getting on with it coming in every day and working hard with the physios.
"We are all working hard to get where we want to be and obviously that's for everyone that's injured to get fit and be ready for pre-season."
The protective boot was certainly never going to stop Kights getting involved in the promotion and title-winning celebrations against both QPR and Doncaster.
And almost two weeks on, his reflections on a magical Sunday afternoon remain understandably positive.
"I've said many a time that I didn't feel part of it towards the end but once the final whistle went after Doncaster the other boys, the staff and fans just made me feel I'd played every single game which was great," he adds.
"It was a brilliant occasion for us and we all really enjoyed it."
Even while continuing his rehabilitation Kights has allowed his mind to wander towards what might be in August.
Listing Anfield as the grounds he is most keen to play at - not to mention the other members of the 'Big Four' as well as the London clubs near his roots - he is confident Wolves will not hit the top tier simply to make up the numbers.
"Obviously I have started thinking about the Premier League but I'm not sure it will kick in fully until all the fixtures come out," he explains.
"We're all really looking forward to it though and a lot of the boys can't wait.
"But at the same time we all need a little bit of time off and the chance to rest and recharge the batteries before what is going to be a tough pre-season.
"We're a big club and we deserve to be in the Premier League for what we've done this season.
"It's a great club with a great fanbase and great facilities and hopefully we can stay there.
"The Championship's a tough league as well and is a hard one to get out of so that should stand us in good stead for the battles ahead.
"Now we are in the Premier League we want to make sure we stay there."
And while much-fancied Championship side Reading's dreams of a Premier League return evaporated at the hands of Burnley in this week's play-off semi finals, Kights believes the Royals are an example to follow in terms of their impact on the top flight just a few short years ago.
"Teams can go up and survive in the Premier League, it's been proved that they can," he says.
"Look at what Reading did a few years back.
"They didn't change their squad too much and had a great season and there's no reason we shouldn't be trying to do something similar.
"We're a Premier League game with the facilities we've got and have proved we're a decent side this season.
"I'm sure the gaffer will make a few additions but with what we've got already I'm sure we'll be fine."
