Dave Edwards has been impressed with Marlon Harewood's efforts in training and he feels that the striker is a more than useful addition to the squad.
With the injured Michael Kightly and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake being joined in the treatment room by Chris Iwelumo, Dave feels it was something of a masterstroke to bring the Villa man in on loan.
He said: "Marlon has been brilliant in training and his work ethic is superb - he's looked really sharp.
"I've seen him play on TV but never in the flesh and I don't think he played to his true potential on Monday night.
"He knows himself he could have done better, but it was his first game back at this level and I imagine it's
a lot different to the Premier League.
"You don't get as much time on the ball and it's a rough and tough league.
"He's a Premier League striker and we're blessed to have him in our team for the run-in because he will work hard."
On missing Sylvan at St Andrew's, Dave added: "If you've got a striker in your team who has scored 24 goals this season, he's always going to be important and missed a little bit, but it's a squad game.
"That's why the gaffer brought Marlon in before Sylvan was injured and we've got Sam Vokes and Andy Keogh so we've got a good group of strikers."
