Dave Edwards has reflected on the events at St Andrew's on Monday evening and conceded that it was a disappointing performance from the League leaders.
The midfielder went close to breaking through twice in the opening minutes but it proved to be a night to forget for him and the rest of the Molineux side.
Dave admitted: "It was bitterly disappointing. I thought we started the game alright - nice and solid like we have been over the last few away games.
"Everything was going to plan, but then the sending off came and that really changed the game.
"It was criminal for us to concede just before half-time.
"On the pitch we were saying to each other, 'just keep it 0-0 until half-time' then we can have a right good go in the second-half.
"We knew if they went in 1-0 ahead they'd have something to fight for in the second half.
"We knew they were going to put a lot of men behind the ball because we conceded that sloppy goal, so we were just trying to keep the ball moving from side to side to try to stretch them and then try to get through the middle of them when we had the opportunity.
"But it didn't happen and I don't think we got behind them once in the second-half.
"Monday night was not our night and we didn't deserve to win.
"We were very poor and that's the disappointing thing - I think we only had one shot in the second-half and that's not good enough.
"We're top of the league for a reason and we should be doing better than that.
"But with five games left, we're five points clear if Reading win their game in hand, so it's in our corner and we'd have definitely have taken this in August."
