And he admits he can't wait to get going ahead of Wolves' crucial final six games of the season.

"I'm delighted to have the chance to come to Wolves," he said.

"The club have had a great season so far and are in a great position heading into the final six games.

"I'll be doing everything I can to try and help them over the finishing line.

"It's good to get the chance to get out there and play some football again and I'm really looking forward to it."

Marlon is in line for a lively possible debut as the next fixture is away at Villa's local rivals - and Wolves' closest Championship challengers - Birmingham, a week on Monday.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy, pictured welcoming Marlon to the training ground yesterday, is delighted with the additional firepower which will supplement an already goal-laden Molineux strike-force.

"We're bringing in a Premier League striker," said Mick.

"Goals haven't been a problem for us this season - our strikers have done very well and I have told them they haven't done anything wrong.

"But when there is a chance to bring in added competition in the form of a striker with a proven goalscoring pedigree then you have to take that opportunity.

"Marlon has scored goals wherever he has been and I'm delighted we have managed to bring him in."

And CEO Jez Moxey has pointed out that the striker's versatility could also stand Wolves in good stead given that after the loan window shuts on Thursday there can be no further arrivals.

"Marlon has got a very good track record scoring goals and can also operate wide on the right," said Jez.

"So as well as adding to our striking options it also gives us cover in an area where we haven't really got any natural right-sided player to cover for Michael Kightly.

"We were mindful of the deadline for loans being on Thursday and wanted to make sure we were fully prepared for the final six games of the season.

"So when the chance came up to do a deal for Marlon we were delighted to take Click here for detailsthe opportunity."
