Mick McCarthy has confirmed Wolves' interest in a loan move for Aston Villa striker Marlon Harewood.

The boss has confirmed he has spoken to his counterpart at Villa Park Martin O'Neill and has revealed that more talks are planned.

"I've had a discussion with Martin O'Neill and I'm waiting to have another discussion with him," said Mick.

"I've asked him the question and we'll be speaking again over the next couple of days.

"I want to do it but Martin and I need to speak again.

"They've got a game on Sunday and we've got one tomorrow but we'll be talking at some stage.

"I'm delighted with the four strikers I've got here - they're all off on international duty and potentially involved in two games - but if I've got the ability to sign somebody of Marlon Harewood's ability and strengths then it would be fantastic."
