Mick McCarthy has hailed George Elokobi's "incredible personality" as the defender closes in on his new Wolves contract.
Although still recovering from the cruciate injury which has ruled him out for all but the first four games of the season, George's performances during the first eight months of his Wolves career have been enough to convince his manager of his long-term potential.
The defender's character and positive attitude in response to the setback have further convinced Mick of his future worth hence the talks of a new contract beyond its current expiry of 2010.
"We are going to extend George's contract and it will get sorted out," said Mick.
"George will be back - he's the most positive person I've ever seen after the injury he has had.
"It would be just reward for what he did when he came in as well as encouraging him to be better and get back in the side it may help.
"He has been brilliant around the place, he's an incredible personality.
"I think there's only been ten minutes since he got injured at Ipswich that he's had a little bit of a grizzle at something, he's been fantastic.
"A new contract would be great for him - we know he's a good player and he'll get back to that."
And next on the agenda is set to be defender Kevin Foley.
The defender admits he remains relaxed about the whole situation but would gladly commit himself to the club long term.
"There's an order to things but Kev's will certainly be sorted out," Mick confirmed.
