Wolves on top of the Championship, the Republic of Ireland on top of their World Cup qualifying group, International Goal of the Year award tucked away in the locker and now an extension to his Molineux contract.

It's not been a bad week for Andy Keogh.

But the determined Wolves striker is certainly not thinking about resting on his laurels - far from it.

There remains work to be done - and signing a two-year extension on his contract which now runs to 2012 is not going to stop Andy from trying to do it.

"I was delighted to sign the new deal," he admits.

"Pledging my long term future to Wolves was something I really wanted to do and I'm glad it was all sorted so smoothly.

"I'm really settled here and am more than happy to have signed on until 2012.

"I'm still getting better as a player and trying to learn more about the game and this is a great place to keep doing that.

"Hopefully I can keep improving and growing as a player with the gaffer's help.

"We're all of a similar age here and tied to similar long contracts and that was another reason why I was so keen to sign on again."

Wolves head to Burnley tomorrow on the back of a run of one win in eight - but still with a four-point lead at the top of the Championship.

There might be pressure - but the 22-year-old striker insists it's a pressure to be relished.

"No Championship team can be perfect all the time, we all have blips, and all of the boys are ready to come through this one," said Andy.

"We are all ready for a really good push from now until the end of the season.

"It's a great pressure for us to have at the moment because we are all young lads and this is what we play football for.

"We all want to play in the Premier League and we all want to do our best for this club so we will be doing everything we can to achieve it.

"At the end of the day we're still top of the table and it's in our own hands.

"We deserve to be there for what we've done so far this season and it's up to us to keep going and get where we want to be.

"Burnley is another tough game.

"But we've just got to carry on doing what we've been doing this season, getting in their faces and earning the right to get the ball down and play our football."
