Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has been named as the PFA Fans' Player of the Month for December.

The Wolves striker scored three goals in a month in which Wolves collected 11 points to maintain their lead at the top of the Championship.

The monthly awards are voted for by the country's football fans and Sylvan held off the claims of Julian Speroni, Lee Carsley, Kevin Doyle and Kevin Phillips to secure the accolade.

"I'm delighted," he admitted.

"The months seem to be going that quickly that they're merging into each other but I'm really pleased to have won the award.

"Thanks to all the fans that voted!

"I'm not sure how many other fans apart from Wolves fans would have voted for me but it's nice to be recognised in this way.

"When you're playing against a team you know the opposition fans are going to want their team to win and they pay to back their team.

"But  if some of them have voted for me because they appreciate how I play then great.

"Hopefully I can win a few more!"

Sylvan will be presented with the award prior to a forthcoming home game.

He becomes the second Wolves player to win the PFA Fans' award this season after Michael Kightly landed the honour for September.
