Mick McCarthy is wary of heading to Queens Park Rangers tomorrow admitting they'll have nothing to lose against his table-topping side.
Wolves' status as Championship pace-setters is always going to add a little extra motivation to opposing teams, and Mick believes Rangers - in their first home game under new boss Paulo Sousa - will be no different.
"There's no better game for QPR than us going down there," said Mick.
"We're top of the table, supposedly with a bit of reputation, and they'll have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
"They'll want to knock us off the lofty perch we've got at the moment - all the teams will want to do that and players will use it as extra motivation.
"If you want to kick-start a season just beat the league leaders."
Mick admits he also believes QPR boast a good squad of players and will once again prove that there's a very thin dividing line in the Championship.
"QPR were struggling a bit last season and there was a concern about relegation but they invested in the window and managed to sort that one," adds the boss.
"They've got a good squad of players.
"I've said all along there's a thin dividing line in this league.
"Games can be decided maybe by a good save or a good finish like Sylvan's last week, or even a decision or a bit of luck good or bad.
"It's all so very very close."
And while Wolves will head to West London with a fairly strong squad at their disposal, Mick is certainly not counting any chickens concerning the availability of his players ahead of what is an ever-hectic December schedule.
"Things can change so very quickly," he insists.
"There are a few players one booking away from a suspension, and then you might have two or three injuries, an illness, and everything can change in the blink of an eye.
"You can have a squad of 20 and all of a sudden it's down to 16 and I remember earlier in the season we went down to Swansea with two of the Academy lads.
"Things can change with injuries, but hopefully it won't because we're fairly strong at the minute."
