Michael Kightly is fully fit and ready to go at QPR tomorrow after undergoing a different kind of nose job!
After breaking his nose whilst going up for a headed clearance in the dying stages of the impressive win at Sheffield United ten days ago, Kights was still able to come through Saturday's draw with Birmingham before undergoing surgery on Monday.
Back at Compton yesterday, he's now ready and raring to go for tomorrow's trip to Loftus Road although perhaps more wary of trying his luck as a centre half in the future!
"It's all o-k, it's been straightened!" he says.
"I trained yesterday and will do again today so I'm ready for tomorrow.
"Internally it's been fine so I was able to play against Birmingham, it just needed straightening.
"It would have been a long time bent if I hadn't had it done!
"The banter's been flying and I've been 'Mick McCarthy-ed' off a few times.
"They're saying I'm trying to look like the gaffer.
"Looking back maybe I should have ducked out of the header.
"In the last minute with us 3-1 up perhaps I should have just let him get the header in.
"Seriously though I was just doing what everyone in the team does, giving our all for the cause.
"If I have to get a broken nose here and there then so be it."
Kights may have missed a couple of days' training to get the job done but with all the games Wolves have played recently he is hopeful that might ultimately prove a blessing in disguise.
"I feel fine," he added.
"I wasn't able to train Monday and because I was under a local on the evening I didn't train on Tuesday because of any side effects.
"But I was back in and training yesterday.
"In a way it's not been bad to get a couple of days rest.
"We've had so many games recently and anyone who has any niggling injuries, a couple of days helps settle them down.
"It's nice to have that couple of days now and again and come back fresh."
