On The Attack
Mick McCarthy today insisted Wolves will once again travel to
Top-of-the-table Wolves face a tough task at the division's most in-form team who have moved up to third after an impressive run and indeed have still only lost once in the league so far this season.
But they'll be no attempts at any cagey tactical battle from Mick who remains convinced that it's better to go all-out for victories rather than finishing up with too many draws.
"I don't think there's that much between the teams in the league," says the boss.
"I look at our game the other night.
"Jason Scotland was brilliant against us at
"
"There are some defining moments in every game as we had against
"But we've had the gloves off every game and will continue to do so - we'll be 4-4-2 again tomorrow.
"Thinking back to last season we had good unbeaten runs but with a few draws in there.
"And that's never as productive as winning games - we know that.
"So try and win them - that's the way I look at it.
"That's why we've been scalped a couple of times but we will still be trying to win the games."
Mick has no fresh injury worries ahead of tomorrow's televised game and has revealed Michael Kightly is not suffering any problems from the calf injury picked up last weekend.
Kights was withdrawn in the second half of Tuesday's game but the manager revealed that was purely due to it not being his night.
Meanwhile Mick has also revealed Wayne Hennessey has reacted positively to finding himself on the bench following Carl Ikeme's recent introduction to the team.
"I've had a long chat with
"You have to manage the ones that are out of the side, the ones that are in you don't have to say anything to them.
"
"If someone is playing well and deserves an opportunity they get that opportunity
"Then if they seize it and take that opportunity it's up to the other one to get back in.
"He's asked me what he's got to do to get back in and then it's about supporting your team-mate as goalkeepers do - they're all very close.
"You just have to train as hard you can because maybe someone gets injured or as a goalkeeper you've got every chance of being sent off.
"When you do you're ready to come back in and if you do you feel top again and it's someone else that has their nose out of joint - everyone wants to play."
