Shorthouse Family Thank Wolves Fans

Posted on: Mon 22 Sep 2008

The family of Bill Shorthouse have expressed their gratitude to Wolves fans for the kind wishes and tributes paid to the legendary defender on the club's official website.

Supporters inundated WOW following the death of Bill on September 6 to offer their condolences to his family and recall memories of watching the defender as he made his contribution to the most successful spell in Wolves' history.

Bill, who passed away at the age of 86, was also the subject of an impeccably observed minute's silence before last Tuesday's Molineux win against Crystal Palace.

A statement from the Shorthouse family reads:"Bill's wife Betty and his sons Paul and Nigel greatly appreciate the lovely tributes which have been sent by fans to the Wolves' FC Official Website.

"The family send their grateful thanks to everyone and will treasure the printout copy which Wolves have kindly provided."

Betty, Paul and Nigel were all guests at the Crystal Palace game when the Wolves team wore black armbands in memory of Bill.
