Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has landed his first England under-21 call-up after being named alongside Michael Kightly for the European Championship qualifier with Portugal at Wembley.

Sylvan is one of two uncapped players in the squad for the match taking place a week on Friday.

England currently top their qualifying group with six wins and a draw and are in a good position to qualify for next summer's finals in Sweden.

Although Sylvan is 22, all players born from 1986 are eligible for the qualification games and, should he feature, the striker will then be available for selection for the finals.

Kights is already eligible for the finals having featured in the qualification campaign.

The winger has four under-21 caps to his name, most recently as a half time substitute when he made an impressive impact against Slovenia.

Other established names in the squad include the likes of Micah Richards, Tom Huddlestone, Aaron Lennon, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Theo Walcott.
