One clean sheet and the rest will follow - that's the hope for Wolves keeper Wayne Hennessey as he targets his first shutout of the season against Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow.

Despite a decent start to the season with a point at Plymouth and progression against Accrington Stanley in the Carling Cup, conceding four goals in two games is not something which Wayne and his defence are particularly pleased with.

And that is why he is hoping the Molineux mean machine will get into gear for the first home league game of the season.

"There have been a couple of errors in different parts of the field so far but obviously it would be nice to get a clean sheet tomorrow and hopefully get on a roll after that," he said.

"I got 19 last season and while it's always difficult to set targets I think I'd be delighted with anything from 15 upwards and if I get a few more than 19 than great.

"You're only ever as good as your last game and if you play poorly you want to make sure you put it right for the next one.

"We've conceded two goals in each of the first two games so from my point of view I'm keen to get a clean sheet on the board and obviously for the team to get three points.

"It always takes a bit of time for any new defensive unit to gel and we all have to get used to any new defender's strengths and weaknesses and just how they play.

"Last season we had Breeny (Gary Breen) in and Breeny out, Jody and Neill and Darren in and out, and it always takes time.

"We all know we will get better as a back five the more games we play."

Last weekend's trip to Plymouth was a particular baptism of fire for Wolves' back line given the atrocious weather conditions and they weren't best pleased with the goals conceded.

However it still took an almighty performance from Graham Stack, the man Wayne kept out of the Wolves team last season, to prevent the visitors progressing to all three points against the Pilgrims.

"The conditions were horrendous at Plymouth and the pitch wasn't the best either," adds Wayne.

"It was a tough game but we went in at full time with mixed feelings.

"A point's a point but we created loads of chances and Graham Stack played really well.

"It always seems to happen like that.

"Stacky was man of the match from where I was standing with the saves he pulled off, he was a real barrier in the way.

"Hopefully he will play week in week out for them now which will do him the world of good.

"He was tremendous for me with the support he gave me even though I'm sure he was frustrated sitting on the bench."

All roads now however lead to Molineux tomorrow, and Wayne can't wait to get going.

"Plymouth away is always a hard game and at least we've got it out of the way," he added.

"I think we have looked very good so far particularly going forward and maybe just need to sort out a couple of little things in terms of the errors.

"They have just been little errors which have cost us, nothing major, but just minor things we will iron out.

"I can't wait for the first big home game tomorrow and hopefully we can get the win and the clean sheet."
