Mick McCarthy today insisted there is no danger of any complacency setting in ahead of tonight's Carling Cup tie with Accrington Stanley.
Wolves went out of the competition at the second round stage to League Two side Morecambe last season but Mick has said that was more down to defensive errors than taking the opposition lightly.
And even amid changes from Saturday's line-up against Plymouth, the boss will be sending out a strong team at Molineux tonight.
"It was nothing to do with complacency," Mick says of Morecambe last season.
"If you looked at the team that played on the previous Saturday, it was a strong enough team but maybe there were a couple of youngsters who played in it.
"We made unbelievable mistakes in that game, and it's fairly ironic that the goalkeeper (Graham Stack) that led one in under his body against them was so outstanding against us on Saturday.
"But I was delighted for 'Stacky' and I have no problem with him at all.
"There aren't any youngsters in this one - it's a first team and whatever side is picked, there's not one of them you could say 'I'm trying him out' or we're just having a look at someone.
"I just want to win the game.
"Sometimes you look at it and you start thinking about Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, but I'll worry about that after we play Accrington Stanley tonight.
"Sometimes you think about giving people a rest but we've only played one game."
Having started his career as a player at Barnsley Mick is well aware of how teams are able to fire themselves up for cup ties against more illustrious opposition.
And that is why he is confident his own players will be wary of being on the end of a giant-killing.
"As a player for Barnsley, we played against First Division sides when we were a Second and Third Division team," he added.
"It used to make me laugh when people used to say the better sides are fitter - no one is any fitter than anyone else.
"It's how you move the ball around - who's chasing the ball determined who's the fittest.
"If you're chasing the ball all night, you're going to be knackered.
"It's 11 players versus 11 on a pitch and they have everything to gain and we have everything to lose.
"As a team coming to Wolves, it's a great position for them to be in.
"They want to cause an upset and if they want to make a name for themselves, it's a nice position to be in.
"They will be coming here with all guns blazing trying to beat us, no question."
