George Elokobi today revealed he is already feeling "more mobile and athletic" as a result of Tony Daley's summer fitness schedule.

The Cameroon-born defender is gearing up for his first full season at Wolves, and having adhered to Tony's programme admits he is feeling fitter than ever.

"I stuck to my off-season programme given to us by Tony and I'm come back in good shape," says George.

"With the work we're doing in pre-season, we will be in even better shape and we'll take it from there. It's more intense here because we're training every day or every other day and you still have enough time to recover before your next run.

"But it's good to be back and it's good to start working with the boys again.

"And I certainly feel better - I've lost almost three kilos (six and a half lbs) in weight compared to the end of the season which is good.

"I used to weigh 90 kilos (14st 2lbs) but I came in at 87.1 (13st 9.5lbs) which is good - I feel more mobile and athletic."

Hitting the heights in terms of his fitness levels can only help George in his quest to become a better player, an ambition he is keen to pursue over the next season.

"I'm looking to develop my game," he confirmed.

"First and foremost I'm a defender, but I also want to go on the overlap more and put in decent crosses to enable the strikers and wingers to score.

"That can only be a bonus to me and the team and I'm looking forward to being able to do that.

"I realise there are things I need to improve on and, as a player, you can always improve until your career is over.

"That's what I'm looking to do. I want to be the best out there and I will do everything in my power to be the best player out there."
