Michael Kightly could be in line for a call to the starting line up tomorrow following an injury to Michael Gray.
The winger made his comeback from an ankle injury by playing the whole of the second half against Ipswich on Saturday in place of Gray.
Having come through with no after effects, the 22-year-old could step up to the first eleven.
Manager Mick McCarthy explains: "Micky took a kick on the shin and he's doubtful for tomorrow.
"I thought at half-time he was beginning to toil a bit and I asked if he was ok. He'd but some ice on it and said he was but I could see he wasn't.
"I might have left it another ten minutes before bringing Kights on but it made my mind up for me.
"Kights did well and said he felt great afterwards.
"He's fit enough to start but whether we use him from the beginning or from the bench, it's just nice to have a pair of fresh legs."
Dave Edwards will not feature. The central midfielder limped out of Saturday's game after 18 minutes with a knee injury.
He will be allowed to rest for a couple of days before undergoing further assessment.
Meanwhile the boss explained why he didn't have a direct replacement for Edwards on the bench.
He said: "I was comfortable with the fact that Kevin Foley could play there if necessary, although I wasn't expecting the injury to Dave to happen.
"My thinking was that if I made any substitutions they were going to be positive ones to try and win the game."
