Boss Fumes After Disappointing Draw

Posted on: Wed 05 Mar 2008

Mick McCarthy was left fuming after seeing his side twice lose the lead and end up with just a point from tonight's game with Southampton.

He said there could be 'no excuses' for a performance that whilst poor should still have given Wolves all three points.

The boss said: "I was raging at the end. I'm devastated that we have thrown two points away. There's no excuses.

"We weren't good but that happens in the Championship, and having got ourselves in front it should have been job done.

"Giving away a free header in the box with 30 seconds to go is disgraceful.

"I can't comment about the referee (the penalty decision) because I'll get myself into trouble."
